Christina Hubacek, known as @TurboTina91 on Instagram, has been part of the Nutrishop family for over a decade. She is one of the 4% of fire fighters who are female, an EMT, and a Nutrishop sponsored athlete/ambassador. We caught up with her to find out what motivates her, how she overcomes challenges, her favorite cheat meal and much more! 

How did you get involved in fitness and how long have you been doing it? 

I started at 15 at a Krav Maga studio and was forever changed. I started lifting weights soon after. So, half my life so far!

What has been one of the greatest challenges you've faced and how did you overcome it? 

My faith has always been what pulls me out of the trials in this life. From my dad's cancer, my marriage's darkest moments, losing our first child to miscarriage, and now facing a new world of danger as a firefighter, the one constant has always been Jesus.

Who inspires you and why? 

I could go on and on forever listing the people in my life who have inspired me, but it all boils down to integrity and authenticity. People who lead by example. Who are never too proud or busy to help, teach, and guide. Character goes a long way with me. People who go against the flow of mediocrity!

What is the most important piece of advice you would offer to someone who wants to be like you? 

Simple answer? Don't. Be like YOU. The unique soul that God made you. But if you want my results/motivation/discipline? Simply don't quit. Acknowledge your failures but never stop getting back up. In the words of Dave Ramsey: "Success is just a mountain of failures you're standing ON instead of UNDER." 

What are your top five training tips for someone looking to get in great shape?

My tips involve going back to the basics:

  1. Drink aaaaall your water
  2. Snack often
  3. Find what inspires you and pursue it hard - it'll help on the low motivation days. Purpose and passion.
  4. "What do we do when we get tired? We fight HARDER." My first trainer taught me that mantra, and I live it through every challenge. Don't just work out. TRAIN HARD.
  5. Carbs are not your enemy!!

How have Nutrishop supplements helped you in your fitness journey? 

Nutrishop has been a part of my journey for almost ten years now. Nutrishop fueled all my fundraising fitness challenges: a 4-hour run for Hurricane Harvey victims, a 19-mile run and 19,000-mile row for a COVID-19 related loss, and a 30,000-mile row for human trafficking victims. Most recently, Nutrishop fueled me through my physical agility course for the fire department and every day of fire academy!

What is your favorite Nutrishop supplement or supplement stack so far and why? 

HEMOVEX has been my tried and true favorite pre-workout for so many years!! Stance BCAA Complex is a daily staple for both my 5-year-old and me. Those have to be my two favorites, but it's so hard to choose!!!

When times get tough, how do you stay motivated? 

I love and live by these two quotes:

Anything NF, Alan Walker, or Skillet!!

Favorite cheat meal? 

Cheesy, bready; anything with icing. Hold on, now I'm hungry.

Favorite healthy snack? 

Apples and dessert hummus. Yes, it's a thing. Go find it!

What is your training routine like each week? 

While I'm a meathead at heart and love those heavy lifting days, Orangetheory workouts are my favorite way to test how powerful I really am.

What is your most notable achievement? 

Becoming a firefighter has changed my life forever. I am so honored to be a part of the 4% of female firefighters. #brotHERhood

Future goals? 

My only goal is to continue to live in constant pursuit of living out whatever God calls me to.
